The Interdepartmental Center for Microsystem Technologies for Environmental Quality and Safety (CITQMSA) is a research center of the University of Florence.
It is configured as an interdepartmental structure, with administrative affiliation to the Department of Information Engineering (DINFO) and shared governance between the five participating Departments: DAGRI, DICUS, DINFO , SBSC and DIEF.
The scientific and strategic direction is entrusted to a Director, assisted by a Management Committee composed of representatives of the Departments, with the functions of guidance, planning and monitoring of activities. The management model is based on multidisciplinary integration, distributed responsibility and coordination by projects.
The research activities are organized into thematic lines and project tasks, with scientific referents responsible for achieving the objectives, managing resources and respecting times and milestones.

The Centre adopts an approach oriented towards quality, sustainability and safety, integrating impact assessments, risk analysis and technological reliability criteria in the development of projects. Collaboration with public bodies, companies and scientific partners is regulated by formal agreements, in line with the University Statute and Regulations, guaranteeing transparency, traceability of activities and protection of intellectual property.
