The course introduces the fabrication technologies and the function of the main digital devices which compose the modern electronic systems. Particular emphasis is devoted to embedded circuits with microcontrollers and field programmable gate arrays (FPGA).
Learning Objectives
The student will learn the theory of:
- main devices and circuits for digital electronics
- Techniques for integrated circuits fabrication
- VHDL language
- Programmable devices and embedded circuits (microcontrollers and FPGAs)
The student will lern to:
- Design a combinatorial and/or sequential logic circuit
- Program a microcontroller and/or a FPGA
Type of Assessment
The student can participate to the oral tests during the year, or to the written test that at the end of the course
The student is requested to answer questions about:
- main devices and circuits for digital electronics
- Techniques for integrated circuits fabrication
